While not necessarily programmatic in nature, the University of Connecticut has initiatives and opportunities for employees to engage in community service.

Faculty and professors have the opportunity to design a service-learning course and support students The university has a Faculty Guidebook for Service Learning Pedagogy to support the creation of service learning classes. Some examples of service-learning projects include Keney Park Sustainability Projects, Sustainable Community Food Systems and Husky Reads among others.
