A brief description of the open access APC fund:

When UConn originally provided its Open Access Policy, a fund called the Open Access Author Fund (2011 – 2014) was established to support faculty and/or staff in publishing their research in the open access repository.

Information on the previous Open Access Author Fund can be found here: http://digitalcommons.uconn.edu/libr_oa/

After 2014, the Open Access Author Fund expanded under the Open and Affordable Initiative (2015). Also run by the University of Connecticut Libraries’ Research Data Services, the Open and Affordable initiative incentivizes faculty and/or staff to not only create and publish their research in the open access repository, but also incorporate said research (and other open access material) in their syllabi.

The resources are made available for a variety of disciplines, ranging from anthropology to statistics. The OER repository can be found here: http://guides.lib.uconn.edu/friendly.php?s=oer

Currently, UConn offers awards from the Office of the Vice President of Research to assist with charges related with open access article processing charges.
