PA-14: Workplace Health and Safety

2014 was the first year that a baseline year was formally established for data.

The health and safety policy was adopted in order to provide a safe and healthy environment for University faculty, staff, students and researchers. The health and safety policy outlines responsibilities and mandates compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and University regulations, policies, and procedures concerning workplace safety and public health. http://policy.uconn.edu/2011/05/19/health-and-safety-policy/ The vision of the Environmental Health and Safety department at the University is to promote and maintain a safe and healthful environment by ensuring the highest level of environmental health and safety services for faculty, staff, students, and visitors at the University of Connecticut. Their mission is to provide comprehensive environmental health and safety services for the University community by developing and administering effective policies and procedures that prevent personal injuries and maintain regulatory compliance in the areas of biological, chemical, occupational, and radiation safety, thereby supporting the University's mission of teaching, research, and public service.
