A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with green building design and construction guidelines and policies:
Board of Trustees approval is required for a project to be exempt from LEED Gold certification. The Green Cleaning Policy sighted above in the University’s Climate Action Plan is a state-mandated policy. The Climate Action Plan is a commitment that was signed by the President of the University. A designer or consultant is contractually obligated to abide by UConn’s Design Guidelines and Construction Policy (pp 10; definition of Designer)
