A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:
The University has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Eversource, an electric utility company, for them to help us reduce UConn’s energy consumption by 10% over 3 years. UConn is currently in the second year of the MOU. The Green Cleaning Policy sighted above in the University’s Climate Action Plan is a state-mandated policy. The Climate Action Plan is a commitment that was signed by the President of the University. A designer or consultant is contractually obligated to abide by UConn’s Design Guidelines and Construction Policy (pp 10; definition of Designer)
