A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation:
Under the guidance of the New Student Orientation office, staff, students, and faculty provide interactive sessions to all new students and parents that attend orientation. The PowerPoint presentation displayed during check-in allows students and parents to view information about campus sustainability in the curriculum, operations, and student life as provided by the Sustainability office. Providing this information in a PowerPoint slide along with other campus information reduces the use of paper to print materials. Additionally, recycling is encouraged during lunch at orientation by strategically placing blue recycling bins throughout North Classroom (where new student orientation is held).
