A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:
The UCCS SOLE Center rents mountain bikes for one day, a weekend, or a week.

UCCS has met with PikeRide, a local bicycle-sharing organization, multiple times in 2023-2024 to discuss a partnership to offer their services to our campus community. In addition, we had meetings with CU Boulder and Colorado State University to learn more about their bike-sharing programs.

UCCS offers an institutionally operated motor pool for official business and student events. The University actively provides bus charters and van shares for ski trips, athletic events, and conferences within 100 air miles of the campus.

UCCS has LEFE (Low Emission Fuel Efficient) preferential parking at many parking lots across campus. Parking & Transportation Services manages a current list of vehicles that meet LEFE expectations and provides parking pass owners with an LEFE sticker to place in their cars and gain permission to park in these designated parking spaces.
Does the institution have one or more Level 2 or Level 3 electric vehicle recharging stations that are accessible to student and employee commuters?:

A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:
UCCS has four single-port Level 2 EV charging stations in Alpine Garage. UCCS has also secured a grant to replace these chargers with two dual-port EV charging stations. The University also plans to use this funding to install one dual-port charging station at the Gateway Garage and one at the Anschutz Engineering Center. All of these chargers are accessible to the public.

UCCS Residence Life & Housing created an off-campus housing resource website that outlines how to find housing, what questions to ask, and what variables to consider when deciding where to live.

UCCS has many programs and events to help encourage students to use more sustainable modes of transportation:
• Offering educational workshops to learn the basics of mountain biking
• Consolidation of all biking resources into a single website at https://bike.uccs.edu/
• A bike shop for students to repair bikes. This shop is funded by leftover money from the bike locker fee
• A variety of events (Bike Jam, Bike to Work Day, EV demo day for Earth Day, etc.)
• A Bicycle Advisory Committee https://sustain.uccs.edu/get-involved/bicycle-advocacy-committee

To better support student biking, UCCS has designed a new resource for students to find better biking resources on campus and find routes to bike to campus. While UCCS is discontinuing the Pedal Perks bicycling incentive program, it has been active since the last report. UCCS remains committed to encouraging students to bike to campus.
