Operated and maintained by a single-attribute, sustainable management policy/program but not certified under an O+M rating system:
- All utilities are measured and tracked for all buildings within the SkySpark software program (SkySpark only tracks the totalized utilities; the others are tracked utilizing CSU's database). This data is shared with the State of Colorado Architect Office and Energy Office annually. Buildings are benchmarked according to functions. A yearly report provides comparative performance for each building. Significant changes in performance initiate an investigation into causes.
- All water use data is entered into Skyspark and compared from year to year. A yearly report provides comparative performance for each building. Significant changes in performance initiate an investigation into causes. Irrigation is separated from domestic use.
-From 2022 to 2023, UCCS partnered with a contractor to complete an investment-grade audit for an energy performance contract. We are in the process of pursuing the strategies identified in the audit.
The Division of Campus Planning and Facilities hired a Director of Energy and Utilities and a Building Performance Principle Professional in 2023-2024 to conserve energy, improve occupant comfort, and reduce carbon emissions.
