A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:

UCCS Sustainability staff have provided strategic support and mentorship to Pikes Peak Community College sustainability staff. Mentorship consisted mainly of advice on waste management and recycling strategies, sustainability leadership within the larger community, etc. This mentorship has evolved into a partnership with the current staff along with the support for Colorado College and their Sustainability Council.

A brief description of the peer review activities:

Brandon Bishop as the Applied Learning & Engagement Manager acted as the peer reviewer for Whitman College’s AASHE STARS submission in 2019.


A brief description of other inter-campus collaborative efforts around sustainability during the previous year :

CU Sustainability Steering Committee
UCCS, CU Boulder, CU Denver, and CU Anschutz sustainability leaders participate in regular meeting to collaborate and strategically plan with our CU System’s Procurement Services Center.

Colorado Higher Ed. Sustainability Consortium
UCCS collaborates with Colorado College, CU Boulder, CU Denver, CSU Fort Collins, Pikes Peak Community College, Fort Lewis College, University of Denver, Auraria Higher Education Center, Colorado Mesa University, and Western Colorado University in numerous initiatives, including events, sharing strategies, mentorship, etc. Collaboration includes the Colorado Campus Consortium for Renewable Energy, a multi-year effort to secure large scale renewables for higher education throughout Colorado.
