A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Two of the last three years, the Office of Sustainability, with support from the Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance and Human Resources, purchased coffee mugs and partnered with the Staff Welcome Committee to ensure all new staff we educated on sustainability initiatives at UCCS. The mug also included a brochure that was staff-focused and a note about using their new reusable mug at any UCCS coffee shop to receive a 30 cent discount. Funding was not available for additional years. We are currently working with Human Resources to revise their orientation slideshow for both faculty and staff. Representatives from all four campuses in the CU System created a Sustainability training, but it is not required.
