A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory (including the types of faculty and staff included as researchers):

The first phase in collecting publications and papers included a long-form survey for UCCS Sustainability Committee Members, who informed us not only about their own work but also the work of others. At the same time, we distributed a short-form survey along with an email request sent to all-faculty-listserv via our Provost. Finally, we sent follow-up surveys to faculty identified in the first wave but who had not yet responded.

We were made aware of a digital compilation of research publications held by Institutional Research. A list of keywords were compiled using the STARS definition of 'sustainability research,' which was then used to search in the University's Institutional Research online database called Digital Measures (DM.) Faculty are required to submit their research to DM. Revisions were made to create the final list which is uploaded above. We believe that together these methods allowed us to uncover close to all of the sustainability-related research and other projects on the campus.
