Are three or more institutional departments or units currently supporting solutions-focused applied learning or living laboratory experiences for students?:
Are there processes or tools in place to assess the success of the applied learning projects?:
Description of the processes or tools used to assess the success of the applied learning projects:
Of the above programs, the one we have selected to share assessment process is Sustainability innovation microcredential. This is not a course or for academic credit.
1) The Sustainability Innovation micro-credential provides students with a foundational understanding of sustainability and an overview of projects and initiatives implemented at CU. Students participate in workshops that will teach them creative problem-solving techniques, proposal development and how to engage stakeholders. They will receive a one-on-one mentoring session to get feedback and finish with a capstone implementing the newly learned skills in a project proposal or presentation.
2) For students who present at the Student Ideas Showcase, the participant handbook provides guidelines and criteria. 3) Projects presented at the Showcase are reviewed by a panel of judges. Here is the judge's scoring rubric. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SJlJw62e9Hjzroo7K3uPz8w9pke7F5VQ1Wi5C63Fjqg/edit?usp=sharing 4) All projects that are presented at the Showcase are also reviewed for campus implementation feasibility with stakeholders. 5) Feasibility assessment reviews are completed and then projects receive information on possible funding sources.
Is there an online portal or equivalent vehicle that documents completed, current, and/or prospective applied learning projects?:
