The Office of Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement (ODECE) uses a collaborative model with a limited portfolio. The three key areas of the division are: 1) Outreach and Pre-College Programs, 2) Student Success and Engagement, and 3) Campus Climate and Community Engagement.
The IDEA Council is a representative body comprised of student, staff and faculty charged with prioritizing the recommendations in the IDEA Plan. With strategic support from ODECE, the IDEA Council serves as an advisory body. The IDEA Council members lead the effort to prioritize the recommendations outlined in the plan and propose implementation strategies to transform the CU Boulder community. Working with campus leadership, area experts and representatives from units across multiple divisions, the Council works to build a more diverse, equitable and inclusive community. The 26-member council, designated by leaders in their respective units, will focus on recruitment and retention of diverse students, faculty and staff and identify areas where units and leaders can make changes to improve community and enhance sense of belonging for all.
