A brief description of the carbon sinks, including vendor, project source, verification program and contract timeframes (as applicable):
CU Boulder uses Native Energy, a thirdy party premium provider of high quality carbon offsets. Currently, CU Boulder is working on three offset programs, one is an avoided conversion program in the university's home state, while the other two focus on international development of clean wind and water infrastructure. These projects are intended to offset 10,671 metric tonnes of CU Boulder's carbon footprint. NativeEnergy employs the highest quality verification standards in the industry including: The Gold Standard, Verified Carbon Standard, and Climate Action Reserve. For more details on these projects see the Native Energy Proposal attached.
Adjusted net Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions:
Performance year | Baseline year | |
Adjusted net GHG emissions | 110,147 Metric Tons of CO2 Equivalent | 135,679 Metric Tons of CO2 Equivalent |
Start and end dates of the performance year and baseline year (or three-year periods):

Additional documentation to support the submission:
The performance year data reported was provided from calendar year 2019. The institutional data provided in PRE4 is up to date (Spring 2021)
PRE 5 used data collected for fiscal year 2020 which runs July 2019 to June 2020. However this credit used data from calendar year 2019. This was selected to avoid COVID 19 impacts to data.
