A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:

1) Employee Services: New Employee Welcome Day includes a walking tour and a bus tour of campus. Sustainability features are included on the tours. CU Discover Series includes sustainability as featured topic. Welcome packet includes detailed info on bus and bike and carshare programs and a sustainability info sheet by email. Skillsoft portal includes a number of seminars on sustainability. 2) Housing and Dining Services holds trainings for regular full-time employees. At these trainings an overview of the campus and HDS history, successes and commitment to sustainability is discussed. How the individual employee can contribute to our sustainability goals is also discussed along with some specifics about composting, recycling, reading the sustainability signage, etc. More specific sustainability training is encouraged in each unit as all of the different units within Housing and Dining Services have differing sustainability impacts. 3) New Faculty Orientation occurs each fall. Sustainability has been included in remarks and printed materials but is not yet a formal presentation component of NFO.
