A brief description of the institution’s LGBTQ-inclusive policies, programs and practices:

At the University of Colorado the Division of Student Affairs values the diverse backgrounds, histories, identities and life experiences of every member of our community. We strive toward inclusive excellence in making our policies, processes, and actions socially just and equitable. We celebrate and embrace differences. We are committed to welcoming and including diverse groups and perspectives in building a climate in which all members can thrive in an environment where they feel at home, welcome and safe. With support from the upper administration and numerous offices and departments across campus, the University of Colorado has ranked very high in LGBTQIA inclusiveness.
The Gender and Sexuality Center's mission is to promote social justice and inclusive excellence for academic, social and personal development for all LGBTQIa students, staff, faculty and their allies in a safe and support environment. Our goals are to provide community, equity, leadership, support, education and advocacy in our work. The GSC has two full time employees, several student employees and runs the Peer Education Team that is made up of students who present education programs to students, campus organizations, local schools and classrooms. Our space provides a lounge with chairs and couches, computers and free printing, a library of resource materials, LGBTQIA movies and documentaries. We offer more than 100 programs throughout the year including picnics, speakers, a transgender conference, lavender graduation, movie nights, game nights and many other. We work very closely with multiple other resource centers and offices on campus and can help with almost any problem.
