A brief description of the formal sustainability course designation program:
The University of Cincinnati is committed to incorporating the concept of sustainability into our academic programs. To help advance this goal, we've included a "sustainability" designation as one of the criteria/keywords by which students can search for courses in our online course catalog. Faculty members make these designations: they have the opportunity to flag their courses as "sustainability courses."

To filter the catalog linked to above for sustainability courses, users undertake the following steps:

1) Go to Class Search (uc.edu)
2) Click Additional Search Criteria
3) Under Course Attribute, select UC Non-Transcripted Attributes
4) Under Course Attribute Value: select Sustainability Course

Note that there are many more sustainability-focused and sustainability-inclusive courses in UC's course inventory (AC1) than are flagged in our course catalog. That is because not every faculty member is aware of, or takes advantage of, the opportunity to designate their course as a sustainability course in the catalog. UC's Office of Sustainability has ongoing initiatives to raise awareness and utilization of this course catalog feature amongst faculty and students.
