A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to non-academic staff:

UC's employee wellness program ("BeWell UC"), offers quarterly events every year, in which educational sessions, presentations and activities are provided by the University and local partners. In AY19-20, UC Sustainability and the BeWell program developed a collaboration to include UC sustainability events and presentations under the BeWell umbrella, with the goal of supporting UC staff in building an awareness of UC's sustainability efforts and not only undertaking more sustainable behaviors on a personal level, but understanding how their particular departments and staff roles could support broader UC sustainability efforts.

Due to COVID, and the transition between sustainability coordinators, UC Sustainability was not able to contribute to the BeWell program/events during 2021 or 2022 as originally planned. However in 2023 UC BeWell and UC Sustainability are reengaging to bring this to fruition. UC staff and faculty will able to earn incentive points (toward a financial benefit) for attending UC sustainability professional development (as well as general sustainability education) events.
