A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
UC Employee Wellness offers several lifestyle services in order to have a positive impact on health behaviors and improve overall quality of life for UC employees. UC Wellness focuses on 6 dimensions of wellness including: physical, social, emotional, financial, intellectual, and occupational. The mission of the UC Employee Wellness Program is to empower members of the campus community to make proactive and responsible choices regarding their health. We do this by providing opportunities that promote social, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. The Student Wellness Center empowers students to make informed decisions regarding their health and wellness by providing evidence-based education, inclusive resources, and non-judgmental support. they offer an extensive collection of resources and information about various health and wellness topics. Students are encouraged to stop in during office hours for questions and to pick up a variety of free health products. Certified Peer Educators are available to present programs to university organizations. The SWC also provides health awareness events on campus throughout the year. The Student Wellness Center is actively involved with The BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA, a university and community based network focusing on comprehensive health and safety initiatives.
