A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):

UC Sustainability has partnered with UC's employee wellness program, BeWell, to integrate sustainability peer-to-peer outreach and education to UC staff and faculty within the BeWell prgram. BeWell Ambassadors are employees across the University that are recruited, trained and supported in dessiminating information about resources and programs put on under the umbrella of the BeWell program, which explicitly includes UC Sustainability educational and professional development events focusing on topics like active transportation, waste and energy reduction at UC and in higher ed more generally. These ambassadors receive information, training and support from UC's sustainablity office and BeWell program, and then work independently in their own departments and spreading knowledge and motivating their co-workers in their respective departments. The "BeWell" framing encourages much broader participation and interest from staff and faculty than an explicitly "green office" program would at UC, but allows for sustainability-focused content, messages and campaigns to be addressed by BeWell Ambassadors.
