Has the institution engaged in a structured assessment process during the previous three years to improve diversity, equity and inclusion on campus?:
Yes
A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:
As UC continues to build a diverse and inclusive environment, we each have a fundamental responsibility to respect and actively support inclusion so that everyone has an opportunity to learn, work, and grow.
To continue and enhance our efforts, we are carrying out a university-wide assessment. This survey, facilitated with the assistance of Global Novations (a Korn Ferry Company specializing in diversity and inclusion), will gather data to benchmark our diversity and inclusion strengths and opportunities for improvement. These data will also help shape our subsequent D&I goals and initiatives designed to achieve those goals. The survey was designed jointly by Global Novations (a Korn Ferry Company) and UC to address key issues related to diversity and inclusion.
Does the assessment process address campus climate by engaging stakeholders to assess the attitudes, perceptions and behaviors of faculty, staff, administrators and students, including the experiences of underrepresented groups?:
Yes
Does the assessment process address student outcomes related to diversity, equity and success (e.g. graduation/success and retention rates for underrepresented groups)?:
Yes
Does the assessment process address employee outcomes related to diversity and equity (e.g. pay and retention rates for underrepresented groups)?:
Yes
A brief description of the most recent assessment findings and how the results are used in shaping policy, programs and initiatives:
This is part of an effort to continue our momentum in building a diverse and inclusive campus environment. Once the survey results are analyzed, UC leaders will develop and communicate actions to be taken. Faculty, staff, and students will receive ongoing communication about our initiatives, how they can participate, our progress, and our accomplishments.
