A brief description of the composting or mulching program:
UC recycles all wood chips from campus tree operations and composts all leaves, trimmings and plant waste. Wood chips are either used immediately on campus or stockpiled on an off-campus location. All compost materials are taken to the off-campus site and turned with a backhoe on a biweekly basis until ready to return to the campus as usable soil amendment material.
