Each year the groups work together as Sustain UC to organize a weekend-long, off-campus sustainability leadership retreat during the Fall semester. In Spring 2013, Leaders for Environmental Awareness and Protection (LEAP) spearheaded an effort to put on a Sustain UC Fair, which featured sustainability-themed carnival games from various student groups and community organizations. LEAP also hosted a large event for Food Day in Fall 2012 featuring free food and a photo-petition for the Real Food Challenge. Also during the 2012-2013 school year, UC's Engineers Without Borders group worked to build a two room school building in Burere, Tanzania.
