The university participates in the annual Campus Conservation Nationals competition to conserve energy and water. All 26 residence halls on campus have participated for since 2010.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign(s):
In the first CCN in 2010, UC was recognized as a top reducer in energy use. In CCN 2012, UC earned a place in the top 5 schools with the greatest average water use reduction. The competition measures energy and water use reduction by comparing use during the competition period to use during the baseline period before the competition.
