4.96

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Using the People Element platform, https://peopleelement.com/employee-engagement-platform/, UCF IT surveyed the IT community to gauge their engagement across UCF on June 2021, November 2022, and October 2023.

In June 2021, UCF IT sent surveys to 650 IT employees with 448 total responses (68.92% response rate).
In November 2022, UCF IT sent surveys to 581 IT employees with 316 total responses (54.39% response rate).
In October 2023, UCF IT sent surveys to 587 IT employees with 362 total responses (61.67% response rate; total responses for this performance year in relation to all 7,304 employees at UCF were used for the above percent of employees assessed).

UCF IT used People Element's methodology for determining employee satisfaction and engagement. People Element defines employee engagement as "the emotional connection an employee feels toward the organization and its goals". People Element's Engagement Index factors in Connection, Commitment, Advocacy, and Effort.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
In response to the survey results in 2021, UCF IT established an employee engagement committee. This committee consists of volunteers from the IT community across campus who meet twice a month. The committee used the results of the survey to develop initiatives to improve engagement with the aim of seeing an increase in engagement results in subsequent surveys.
