Sustainability objectives in the curriculum within the climate action plan include course development incentives, such as faculty compensation for participation in gaining instruction and assistance on incorporating core concepts into their existing or new courses; service-learning additions to course curriculum where students apply skills to real-world problems; and continued experiential learning (co-ops and internships) opportunities involving sustainability for students. The Sustainable Training Series provides faculty and staff with a wealth of knowledge on topics in sustainability such as community, food, water, consumption and economy, and many more.
Measureable goals outlined in the Climate Action Plan include:
Achieve 100 percent rate for graduating students to have engaged in 15 hours or more of applied learning in an experiential learning course during their academic program, contributing to the well-being of the university’s community

Sustainability objectives in campus engagement within the climate action plan include the continuation and expansion of UCF Arboretum's educational activities and volunteer services; the expansion of Sustainability Initiatives' student portal website that serves as a "one-stop-shop" to learn about sustainability-related events, courses, products, books, podcasts, student groups, and competitions; the continuation and expansion of registered student organizations with a sustainability focus, and the cooperation of these through the Student Sustainability Advisory Committee; and the continued partnership with Housing to host the annual sustainability programming, such as the Kill-A-Watt Energy Conservation Competition and Swap Shop. Campus Swap Shop has helped to divert over 500 lbs of goods from landfills to be donated or used by students on the campus.

Obtain a 75 percent recycling rate by 2020
UCF's Department of Utilities and Energy Services' Green Building Construction and Renovation Requirements state all new construction and renovations projects will be registered with the US Green Building Council (USGBC), and meet a minimum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold rating, utilizing version four, or (latest) with ANSI/ ASHRAE/ IES Standard 90.1 2010 as the building baseline. To ensure both design and quality meets the owner’s intent, both the design and construction teams shall adhere to the latest ASHRAE Standard for Building and System Commissioning.

In 2020, UCF select its current president. As the new administration grapples with COVID-19 impacts, the 2016 Collective Impact remains our guiding strategic plan.
