Institution’s current Campus Pride Index rating (3 Stars, 3.5 Stars, 4 Stars, 4.5 Stars, 5 Stars):
4.5 Stars
A brief description of the institution’s LGBTQ-inclusive policies, programs and practices:
LGBTQ+ Services offers Safe Zone trainings, a mentoring program for LGBTQ+ students, Speaker's Bureau training and speaking opportunities, Lavender Graduation Celebration, Affinity Groups, National Awareness and Celebration Days, and additional educational programs that foster respect for a LGBTQ+ presence on all of UCF's campuses. Additionally, we have a student director on the executive board for the Multicultural Student Center that focuses on LGBTQ+ programming. Some staple LGBTQ+ programs that come out of the MSC are: LGBTQ+ History Month, Transgender Week of Visibility, National Coming Out Day, the HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Banquet, Inclusive Prom, and many others. Pride Commons is a place for students who are looking for resources, community, a place to hang out, or a quiet place to study. LGBTQ+ Services has identified numerous gender neutral restrooms for students who need a safe space to change and utilize a restroom without having to be restricted based on gender.
