For students, UC Santa Barbara offers the Student Health Service which contains a several access to different services available to students (https://studenthealth.sa.ucsb.edu). Some of the services include:
Medical Services: Student Health Service (SHS) provides a full spectrum of primary care services including:
Acute, urgent medical needs: strep throat, flu, accidents/injuries, intestinal/stomach problems, STI screening and treatment, pregnancy testing, emergency contraception, abdominal pain, headache, UTI, etc.
Management of chronic conditions
Mental health diagnosis and medication management
Contraceptive counseling and prescribing including Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) such as IUDs and Implants
Vaccinations: both routing and travel
LGTQ health including gender-affirming care
Accutane initiation and management
Eating disorder support
Sports physicals (club only)

Behavioral Health: UC Santa Barbara’s mental health team works together with other providers to assist students in getting their emotional needs met by assessment, treatment, and linking to other campus and community providers/services (https://studenthealth.sa.ucsb.edu/behavioral-health)
Psychiatric Services: Student Health has psychiatrists and social workers who are available by referral from either Counseling and Psychological Services or primary care clinicians within Student Health
Alcohol and Drug Program: Student Health Alcohol and Drug Program provides free and confidential counseling to all UCSB students whether a student is referred, self-referred, or is concerned about a friend’s use of alcohol and/or drugs
Social Work Services: Student Health Social Workers provide confidential services focused on enhancing and supporting student health and wellness. Through these services, they seek to assist students in achieving academic, social, and personal success
Lyra Health - online 24/7 mental health support platform
UCSB Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS): The goal of this service is to assist Student Affairs and the University in helping the student body achieve academically, socially, and personally through culturally responsive mental health services. CAPS is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment to ensure that all students remain psychologically health in pursuit of their goals

For academic staff and non-academic staff, UC Santa Barbara provides a variety of resources within employee services.
Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP): ASAP Program supports the health and well-being of faculty, staff, and family members. The program assists with identifying, managing, and resolving work-related and personal concerns that may affect job performance and relationships. The program offers conventional short-term therapy, consultation, wellness workshops, and assistance with threat management
Work-Life Resources Program: The program partners with other campus organizations and departments to pursue “whole person” wellness for all university employees. Some resources include
Financial Wellbeing: UC provides free financial and retirement education to all employees to help on the path towards financial well-being, realized through onsite and virtual classes covering a wide range of topics, from budgeting basis to saving for retirement. Employees can also meet with a financial expert in person or over the phone for a free personal consultation
Physical and Environmental Wellbeing: Physical Wellness includes access to medical care, nutrition, getting enough sleep, and more. Environmental wellness means having clean resources, surroundings, and adequate, safe housing
Social and Emotional Wellbeing: UC Santa Barbara offers emotional and social support through a variety of avenues such as the ASAP Program, the Mindfulness Meditation Practice at UCSB, Aura Health (provided to staff and students), and UCSB “Grow”.
Workplace Wellbeing: UC Santa Barbara provides action steps, ergonomic and technology resources, and a workplace welling toolkit to help impact the fulfillment staff feel at work.
UC Moves: UC Moves is an annual UC-wide well-being initiative that promotes wellness and an active lifestyle in the UC Community. This year’s (2023) event encouraged UCSB staff and faculty to “move more” for three weeks in May while competing against other UC campuses (https://hdae.ucsb.edu/blog/compass/uc-moves).
HomeStretch: HomeStretch has been continually offered since January 2002 with the purpose of getting staff to warm up their muscles for 10-15 minutes during work time. HomeStretch was offered during the pandemic via zoom and is now being offered in-person once again! Each unit meets at a time and day(s) that is most convenient for them during the week. The workout is led by a certified personal trainer or team lead at various HDAE locations (https://hdae.ucsb.edu/blog/compass/discover-wellness).
Diabetes Prevention Program - The Diabetes Prevention Program is a complimentary one-year lifestyle change program designed for non-diabetic individuals ages 18 and older who have prediabetes or are at risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes. The program utilizes a CDC-approved curriculum, trained lifestyle coaches, and group support over the course of a year. These 24 classes will provide education, encouragement, and the necessary tools to help reach your health goals.https://recreation.ucsb.edu/DPP
