The Higher Education Impact Group is one of the implementation teams of the Santa Barbara County Food Action Plan Network. The group has representation of UCSB, Allan Hancock College, Santa Barbara City College, and Westmont College. The mission is to address food insecurity of college students regionally. We have two written grants together, are launching a joint website, social media marketing, and a lecture series. We are also exploring additional resources that could be organized regionally to support all of our campuses. The website, social media, and lecture series emphasize the interconnected issues of the environment, society, and economy in our food system.
