A brief description of the technology used:
The University of California, Santa Barbara's campus building automation system, Johnson Controls Metasys, monitors mechanical, electrical, and utility metering systems in most large buildings on campus. There are hundreds of points throughout the buildings measuring environmental conditions, utility consumption, and operational status of various mechanical systems. UCSB Energy Services staff use sequences of operation, including occupancy and schedule-based thermal controls.
