A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
UCSB Grounds to Grounds Program
This is a program that was developed in partnership between the Grounds staff and the staff in the UCen Food Services. The staff that work in all the coffee shops across campus (Buchanan, Coral Tree, Courtyard Cafe, the Arbor, and inside the UCen) capture 100% of their coffee grounds in 3 gallon buckets. The Grounds staff pick them up on a daily basis and use them in the gardens on campus to enrich the soil. All of the coffee purchased by the UCen is organic and fair trade.
