A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive experience(s) offered by the institution:

The University of California, Santa Barbara offers several opportunities for students to have an immersive, environmentally focused educational experience. UCSB’s Education Abroad Program (EAP) has numerous international locations where students can develop a global understanding of the structure and dynamics of complex environmental systems at local universities.

As part of the environmental curriculum at these host universities, students have the opportunity to participate in sustainability-focused courses. Overall, EAP and the host universities offer 317 courses relating to sustainability. Examples of such courses include Sustainable Agriculture (Australian National University), Environmental & Sustainable Development (Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro), Political Science: Sustainable Development (American University of Cairo), Sustainable Natural Resources (Free University of Berlin), and Sustainable Architecture Theory (Kyoto University, Japan).
