A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:

UC San Diego does not currently have or participate in a local bicycle-sharing program. However, the campus has an e-scooter sharing program through Spin. There are up to 1,000 Spin scooters on campus with special campus rates.

A brief description of the car sharing program:

Current UC San Diego students, staff and faculty members can join Enterprise CarShare with no application fee or membership fee. These have been sponsored by Parking and Commuter Services. Pods of Enterprise CarShare vehicles are located throughout the La Jolla and Hillcrest campuses. The low, hourly rates include fuel and damage/liability protection.

Yes

A brief description of the incentives for fuel efficient vehicles:

All UC San Diego faculty, staff, and students who drive electric vehicles are encouraged to join Triton Chargers. By joining Triton Chargers, participants receive incentives such as discounted EV charging. In doing so, they are supporting campus researchers with learning how people use and charge their vehicles. All UC San Diego faculty, staff, and students who are San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) customers may be eligible for up to $4,000 in rebates when purchasing or leasing an eligible pre-owned electric vehicle — from an auto dealer or a private party. UC San Diego Transporation Services partners with SDG&E to promote this rebate opportunity: https://evrebates.sdge.com/

A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:

UC San Diego is San Diego’s largest public charging hub. At the time of this report in Summer 2024, UC San Diego has over 500 Level 2 chargers and 13 Direct Current (DC) Fast Chargers. With rapid program expansion, UC San Diego will offer more than 650 additional Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers by the end of 2025. UC San Diego offers incentives and programs to encourage employees to live close to campus. Over 300 staff and faculty reside in La Jolla del Sol, a condominium-style community owned located just minutes away from campus. The housing is owned and operated by UC San Diego. UC San Diego also recently establsihed Framework, a brand new community owned by UC San Diego dedicated to faculty and staff. Framework is located next to the Park & Market Blue Line Trolley stop; the Blue Line trolley provides direct access to UC San Diego. View more about Framework: https://framework.ucsd.edu/

UC San Diego’s Transportation Services offers several sustainable transportation programs and initiatives to reduce the impact of student and employee computing.  

 
- Triton Commuter Club  
The Triton Commuter Club recognizes and rewards actions to reduce the traffic, parking and environmental impacts of driving alone. The Triton Commuter Club Portal is built on the RideAmigos platform and provides trip-planning, ride-matching and trip logging to earn prizes and incentives for low-impact modes of commuting. - Transit Pass Program  
As part of the VC-50 for Transit pilot program, vice chancellors sponsor 50% of their eligibleemployees’ transit pass costs, up to $27 per month. To make it even easier for first-time transit pass participants to get started, Transportation Services sponsors the employee share during a free, three-month trial period for FaSt2 and Reduced Fare Passes or one-month trial period for COASTER 2 and 3 Zone passes. The VC-50 for Transit pilot program began in August 2022 and is expected to continue through June 2025. -Triton U-Pass for Students

The Triton U-Pass is a program offered to UC San Diego students that grants unlimited access to regional MTS and NCTD bus and trolley/light rail routes during the fall, winter and spring academic quarters. - Carpools and Vanpools 
Faculty, staff and students who live off campus, commute to UC San Diego and are committed to carpooling daily can form a carpool or vanpool and receive incentives. Participants also receive preferred parking on campus that lets you reach your final destination faster. Carpools and vanpools can include faculty, staff and students. - UC E-Bike Discount Program 

University of California affiliates can access extensive discounts on a wide range of UL certified e-bikes from vendors, including Dirwin, Lectric, Ride1Up and Velotric. Discounts on certain models range 15%-60% off retail. Some individuals may even qualify for free E-Bikes, based on the future CARB incentive program.
