Student Health Services provides quality medical services to meet the diverse needs of UCSD students including primary care, urgent care, women’s health, sports medicine, transgender care, behavioral health, travel care, nurses clinic and optometry. Laboratory, pharmacy, and x-ray services are available on-site to facilitate the care of students.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers an array of services ranging from diverse psychotherapy approaches to online self-help applications. CAPS also delivers preventive, early intervention and targeted psychoeducational outreach and consultation, all from a holistic, integrative, and student centric approach. CAPS provides counseling, workshops, and community forums for UC San Diego students. They also provide outreach programs and consultation services to the campus community.
Health Promotion Services works to identify, establish and promote policies and activities that contribute to the personal health of students and the collective health of the campus community.
The Zone is a lounge for student well-being designed to promote healthy, balanced living to UCSD students. The Zone works to support students within the 8 Dimensions of Wellness and offers free programs.
Student Health and Well-being Administration provides insurance, clinical billing and medical record support for students and the business, financial, data analytic and human resource infrastructure services for the Student Health and Well-Being cluster, collections, facilities and space.
UC San Diego has an Employee Assistance Program called Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), which provides free, confidential, short-term counseling to all faculty and staff. They offer a variety of programs and services such as Walk UCSD, activity-related behavior change programs, a health and wellness lecture series, instructor led courses in meditation and stress reduction, flexible work arrangements, financial planning, FitLife Occupational, Work Strong and safety training. UC Eats Real promotes sustainable, healthy food options as part of National Food Day.
In 2017, every campus launched a Healthy Campus Network program. UC San Diego's has several interconnected areas of focus to improve health and wellness for everyone on campus: Be Well, Build Well, Care Well, Eat Well, Mind Well, and Move Well.
The Wellness Ambassador Program was created to form a health-minded work community here for all UC San Diego staff and faculty. Wellness Ambassadors are staff and faculty at UC San Diego that are health-minded and focused on fostering wellness in their respective departments. Roles include: providing feedback on proposed wellness events at UC San Diego, sharing health, fitness and wellness programs with their department, promoting and communicating all of the upcoming Thrive at UCSD events to employees in their departments such as UC Walks, Maintain Don't Gain, and FitLife programs for faculty and staff
participating in wellness programs and activities at UC San Diego.
Thrive @UC San Diego offers presentations, tools, and resources to help faculty and staff make wellness a priority.
