1st program
Green Office Certification (GOC) Program
A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
The Green Office Certification (GOC) program educates sustainability staff champions working in office spaces on campus promote resource conservation and receive recognition for their leadership in sustainability. The GOC team works with office staff to identify opportunities to implement or improve existing sustainable practices and earn points toward certification. Staff champions then train others in their department or office on greener office practices they adopt to get recertified. In 2018-19, the GOC Program educated approximately 207 staff members across a variety of campus departments.

2nd Program
Green Labs Certification Program
A brief description of the employee educators program (2nd program):
The Green Labs Certification program works with a lab manager or other designated primary contact to assess sustainable behaviors in the areas of energy, cold storage, ventilation, water, waste reduction, hazardous chemicals, equipment, procurement, travel, and stewardship to identify where the lab can implement better practices. The primary contact trains other research staff, including incoming/new members, on the sustainable practices specific to their lab. In 2018-19, the Green Labs Certification Program educated approximately 192 staff members across a variety of campus departments.

Additional Programs
The Staff Sustainability Network (SSN) is to bring awareness, transparency, and collaboration to existing sustainability efforts on campus; provide support in pursuing new opportunities for positive impact; and connect faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members with similar eco-passions. Any staff member can join. The benefits of membership include: participating in activities and events that promote awareness of sustainability efforts; networking opportunities to meet people from the campus and community; and discovering more resources and information on sustainability issues. SSN holds monthly meetings, annual outreach events and tabling at events like the annual summer staff celebration and has offered grants in recent years to staff led sustainability projects.
