Total percentage of students (graduate and undergraduate) that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary means of transportation:
64.20

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:
Two methods are used to measure mode split data. The first is annual visual count of commuters arriving on campus, however, this data is not broken down by type of commuter...students vs. employees. This commuter mode split data reflect the total population surveyed by physical count of Commuter Vehicle by type and associated Commuter Vehicle people during Winter Quarter FY17 of campus entrances for commuter people and commuter vehicles. A representative day is created over a multiple day process each year for a data set that allows comparison of mode split calculations year to year. However, in spring 2017 a survey of all campus faculty, students and staff was completed. When this data was correlated with the physical count information, it showed that 64.2% of all students use more sustainable options for arriving on campus.

Approximately 500,000 rides increase, a nearly 20% transit ride count increase.
