A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
UC Riverside reports commute survey data to South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) as part of Rule 2202 on an annual basis. In order to meet SCAQMD compliance, a representative sample of at least 60% must be achieved. This survey is run in April of each year. The data reported here is from April 2019. Commute mode split data is analyzed from this data set. The survey results only include students who are also employees on campus.
