893,623.69 MMBtu

Clean and renewable energy sources

Clean and renewable electricity

Clean and renewable electricity (report kilowatt-hours):
kWh MMBtu
Imported electricity from certified/verified clean and renewable sources (i.e., bundled green power purchases) 0 Kilowatt-hours 0 MMBtu
Electricity from on-site, clean and renewable sources (rights retained/retired) 11,088,534 Kilowatt-hours 37,834.08 MMBtu

A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable electricity:
N/A

A brief description of the on-site renewable electricity generating facilities/devices:
UCR installed a 500 kw solar pv carport in April 2014 and a 3.34 MW solar pv ground mount system in September 2014. Additional carport systems have been added to Lot 30 (3.5 MW) and Lot 32 (0.7 MW).

The 500 kw system was an R&D project funded by South Coast AQMD, Solarmax and others. Solarmax donated the PV panels and owned the PV part for the first few years to capture tax benefits and then ownership reverted to UCR.
