Does the institution offer housing options to accomodate the special needs of transgender and transitioning students (either as a matter of policy or as standard practice)?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the program, policy, or practice:
The Gender-Neutral housing option allows same-gender, opposite-gender or other gender-identity roommate pairs, without regard to the resident's sex or sexual orientation. Thus, residents of gender-neutral housing may request any roommate. This community is not a traditional theme hall with staff-initiated programming and formal interaction with campus departments and student groups. However, all gender-neutral housing will be located adjacent to Stonewall theme hall. All residents, like those of any other UCR Residence Hall, must adhere to common standards of civility and respect regarding diverse gender identities/expressions, and sexual orientations. The Gender-Neutral community is located in Pentland Hills Residence Hall.
