A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
UC Merced existing campus has twenty-nine (29) buildings as well as offsite leased facilities that make up a total of 2.8 million gross square feet. The campus as part of the university's 2020 project development added 13 new buildings which made up 1.2 million gross square feet.

The total campus mixed use land and building footprint is 274 acres. The total university area is 1026 acres and includes mixed use, reserve, environmental research land as well as active and passive open spaces.
