A brief description of the reusable to-go container program:
UC Merced is currently exploring, and planning to implement, a reusable to-go container process by which diners would pay a $5 deposit to use a reusable container and then return it to a vending machine to be refunded their deposit. We would be the first campus in California to partner with the company that provides these machines. The process will be in place no later than Spring 2013, but plans are to implement in Fall 2012.
