A brief description of the signage that highlights sustainability features on campus:

The UC System has adopted LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design as the standard for Green Building policies. LEED is a program that provides third-party verification of green buildings. Building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification. Prerequisites and credits differ for each rating system, and teams choose the best fit for the project. As of January 2017, UCLA has 45 LEED buildings and renovations completed on campus- 10 Silver, 20 Gold, and 15 Platinum. Additionally, two project received equivalent certification from UC; one at Gold Level and one at Platinum. In addition to these completed projects, UCLA has another 16 projects registered with GBCI. A specific example of signage includes the LEED Platinum Geffen Hall that includes signage around elevators and in stairwells identifying the health and energy savings from taking the stairs, and signage in restrooms about the use of reclaimed water in toilets and urinals.

The UCLA Dining Halls have a number of programs in various dining halls that highlight local, fair trade and other sustainable food criteria. For example,in the Rendezvous Dining area - the "Impossible Footprint Project" raises awareness about the Carbon Footprint of food choices.

UCLA hosts sustainability tours for Alumni Day, Bruin Day, Parents Weekend and for many visiting universities and international visitors, as well as class tours.

A brief description of the guide for green living and/or incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:

Housing & Hospitality Services and the Office of Residential Life published a Green Guide to Life at UCLA in September 2010, which is updated annually. The guide is a booklet of information and resources on the environmental impact of food, energy use, waste, purchases, and transportation, in addition to information on resources and getting involved on campus in environmental efforts.
