1st program
Team Green on the Hill
A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
The Team Green program operates within on-campus housing and is geared towards residential students. The program has two main student positions: Team Green Coordinators and Team Green Members. There is one Team Green Coordinator for each residence hall, and one volunteer Team Green Member per floor. The building Coordinators educate their Team Green Members through trainings, programs, and events, and develop building-wide sustainability programming. Team Green Coordinators also monitor sustainability operations throughout their building and serve as a resource for all residents on topics including waste management, sustainable food systems, water use, energy conservation, and more. The Coordinators and Team Green Members coordinate and participate in quarterly hall and housing-wide sustainability programs and larger initiatives, such as the annual energy conservation competition.

Garden Oversight Committee for the jane b semel HCI Community Garden
A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
The Garden Oversight Committee (GOC) educates plotholders and the wider UCLA community on best practices for gardening. They host weekly workdays that provide plotholders an opportunity to ask a GOC member questions about gardening and meet other plotholders. Workshops they have hosted in the past include: Fermentation, Seed-saving, Fundamentals of Fruit Tree Pruning, and Integrated Pest Management. The GOC regularly leads tours of the community garden to student groups and classes. They have also partnered with Farmers Market at UCLA and FITTED to outreach to the UCLA community through a seed-starting activity and information sharing. The UCLA Grow LA Victory Garden Certificate Program, in partnership with DIG, and the University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program, is a 3-part workshop series that educates attendees on the basics of gardening. The GOC members are trained by the sharing of knowledge from previous GOC members through a shared document, weekly garden planning meetings, and attending the workshops themselves. As an entity under the Semel Healthy Campus Initiative Center at UCLA, GOC members are required to attending an orientation and onboarding in the Fall and regular undergraduate and all-staff meetings.

Carbon Neutrality Initiative Fellows and Ambassadors
A brief description of the student educators program (3rd program):
CNI Fellows and Ambassadors Program - 2018-2019
Two Carbon Neutrality Fellows are hired with funding provided by the University of California President's Office to provide a platform for student education on the The Carbon Neutrality Ambassadors program was in its first year 2018-2019, with six additional students selected to further support engagement and education efforts in exchange for stipends. Students received training in speaking about the Carbon Neutrality Initiative, its connection to the UC Sustainability Policy, Public speaking, project management and engagement tactics, in addition to completing personal projects and engagement activities each week. The program has been expanded to 2019-2020 and now also includes Zero Waste Ambassadors and Sustainability Planning Ambassadors.

Additional programs
-Project TEAL (Training for Environmental Activists and Leaders) aims to educate the UCLA student body, regardless of major or background, on the environmental justice crisis our generation is facing. Through trainings, workshops, and other educational events, we hope to empower these young people to become effective environmental advocates, in whatever field they choose to pursue.
The knowledge required for environmental activism should be harnessed by all, not just environmental scientists, and our trainings are designed to allow for the communication of this knowledge throughout our campus and beyond.
We focus on two main spheres of environmental justice: air quality (advocating for clean, breathable air both locally and internationally) and toxic herbicides (addressing the health hazards of toxic herbicides in agricultural and urban spaces).
The Fair Trade education team provides peer-to-peer outreach, educational programs, and events supporting the use of Fair Trade products on campus and educating the campus population about Fair Trade concepts.The Fair Trade team tables at the monthly campus Farmers Market, as well as at Dining locations and other highly-visible campus locations.
DIG is an organization run by undergraduate students that hosts weekly “dig-ins” for UCLA students. DIG Leaders each play an important role in the functioning of the student garden. Roles include garden coordinator, garden administrator, watering coordinator, seed librarian, treasurer, and outreach coordinator. They are trained through orientations in the Spring and Fall, in addition to having attended dig-ins in the year prior. DIG has hosted volunteer groups at the student garden such as Rotaract and Project RISHI. Previous workshops DIG leaders coordinated include: Composting 101, Transplanting, and art and expression focused workshops. In Winter of 2020, DIG has partnered with UC Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardener Program and the jane b semel HCI Community Garden to provide a three-part workshop series on the basics of gardening.

Student Zero Waste Education (Powell, YRL, Waste Awareness Week, E3 Waste team, USAC Facilities commission) - There are a number of teams of students that deliver targeted waste education to students. Two different teams tabled for four weeks in front of our two largest libraries to launch the Zero Waste initiative in those facilities.
Waste awareness week was a student run event that focused on raising awareness about the global waste crisis through a number of events such as panels, tabling events, a clothing swap, and multiple movie screenings. It’s aim was to expose UCLA students to the gravity and scale of the waste crisis, discuss the various social, economic, and environmental causes and consequences of the crisis, and empower them to make informed decisions and changes that help mitigate the crisis.
E3 and the Undergraduate Student Government Facilities Commission both have teams focused on increasing student literacy around zero waste. They hold events throughout the school year, conduct surveys and develop tools to support their efforts.
Converted the efforts of all these students to a 30 week allocation
