A brief description of the plan:
UCLA adopted a Bicycle Master Plan in 2006. The mission statement of the BMP is to “To improve cycling conditions and promote the bicycle as a transportation mode on, to and from campus.” UCLA Transportation is working on implementing and updating the BMP, in order to keep recommendations under the BMP relevant to current interests within the cycling community. UCLA Transportation also launched a departmental bicycle program, which provides bicycles for employees to use in lieu of departmental vehicles. UCLA Transportation by way of the Green Initiative Fund, will also launch a campus bicycle library, which will avail bicycles to students to check out on a quarterly basis.
