A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
UCI’s new employee orientation for the on-boarding of all new employees is conducted online. Key resources needed for new employees is contained in an online portal and all new employees are directed to review the resources provided in the portal as part of their orientation.
The link to “Sustainability Resources for Faculty and Staff” is an important feature of this portal, providing direct access to seven sustainability infographics containing helpful resources and information for all work settings - on campus, remotely, or hybrid schedules. Employees are encouraged to download the infographics, print, and post them in their offices and shared spaces; or employees can electronically save them for ease of access to linked resources. Simple visual tools such as these serve as friendly reminders to integrate sustainability into one's daily work. These infographics are organized by the following topics and cover the social, environmental, and economic dimensions of sustainability:

2. Conserve Water
3. Enhance Workplace Wellbeing
4. Purchase Sustainably
5. Reduce Waste
6. Save Energy
7. Sustainable Transportation
