Wellness Ambassadors Program

A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
Wellness Ambassadors serve as representatives of the UC Davis Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being program while supporting and engaging their colleagues in wellness messaging, programs, activities and resources.

Wellness Ambassadors attend quarterly trainings, market, publicize and recruit staff and faculty participation in campus health and well-being activities and programming, identify potential ideas, strategies, and programs to enhance well-being and a healthy work culture/environment, develop health and well-being initiatives in their unit, share success stories and metrics with the Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being Program, and help manage Activity Release Waivers where applicable. This program operates and supports employees at both UC Davis and UC Davis Health. Wellness Ambassadors hold varying events throughout the year depending on the individual ambassador, and the amount of time worked by each educator is likely both underreported and goes beyond the minimum 10 minutes per week required by the program.

Currently there are 83 trained Wellness Ambassadors representing 60 different departments on the Davis Campus, with 7,721 subscribers to the Wellness listserv.
