A brief description of the methodology used to track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health :
To handle our Workers Compensation claims, we utilize iVOS, a claims administration system under contract through our insurance third party administrator, Sedgwick. Per the Department of Labor, we are required to report “recordable” injuries on an annual basis (OSHA reporting). UCOP completes this reporting on behalf of our campus by pulling information from the iVOS system. The # of incidents reported in this survey was taken from the OSHA 300A 2018 report field titled Total "Injury and Illness Types".
Annual number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health per 100 FTE employees:
2.60
