Optional Fields
Fleet Service continues to buy replacement vehicles that are alternatively fueled using RD99, E85, CNG, or Hydrogen. In addition, efforts have been taken to expand the number of charge ports for the ever growing number of EVs, and plug-in hybrids, along with use of non-plug in hybrids to serve the campus while lowering emissions. Portable and mobile charging stations are being tested for areas of campus lacking infrastructure to support the EV assignments. Shared pools of vehicles has always been a staple of Fleet’s efforts to reduce the number of vehicles by providing small inventories of vehicles around campus to be shared and rented as needed. Many of these vehicles are low carbon or zero emission vehicles. Fleet Services continues to explore future shared sites and use utilization tracking devices to maximize usage and determine where to locate those vehicles.
