A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
The Office of the University Registrar provided the Office of Sustainability with a list of all courses offered during our academic time period (2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19) and a list of course descriptions. We used a keyword search to initially highlight possible sustainability-focused and -inclusive courses. We reviewed their titles and course descriptions to identify the sustainability courses and courses that included sustainability. The definitions used are ones stated or referenced to in the STARS 2.2 Technical Manual. We did not include tutoring, internships, individual studies, thesis units, or TA units in our inventory as these are taken by one student individually at a time. We counted each time a course is offered as a separate course as outlined in the STARS 2.2 Technical Manual. This methodology is consistent throughout all three years and between undergraduate and graduate levels. Therefore, the number of courses offered may not equal the number of courses on the inventory. The inventory only includes the course once, even if it is offered and counted multiple times.
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each offering or section of a course was counted as an individual course
