Besides complying with EPAct, UC Berkeley requires the acquisition of Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFV) wherever operationally and financially feasible. Our standards require an AFV be used if it can do the job at a reasonable cost.

More than 35% of the campus fleet is considered green including our flex-fuel gasoline/E85 vehicles (not included above). The campus owns several vehicles that are partial zero-emission vehicles (option not included above). Additionally, electric carts are used on campus but are not considered part of the fleet if they do not require street legal licensing. The information in this field was provided by the campus Fleet Services coordinator.
